Reiki Sessions for Animals


​Reiki is a safe, gentle, and effective Japanese energy therapy which heals on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level. Reiki helps by increasing the flow of chi, bringing people and animals back into alignment with their true nature. ​Because our animal companions give us so much joy, it's rewarding to give them the special gift of Reiki.

Reiki imparts well-being, groundedness, and a reduction in pain and distress. It can bring calmness to animals who are nervous or irritable. It supports animals who are sick, have behavioral issues or anxiety. It supports animals who are transitioning feel more comfort and peace. Reiki helps animals of all conditions, constitutions, and ages.

Reiki can be performed in person or remotely, which means your pet can be anywhere and healing energy can be received. This is called Distance Reiki.

Reiki can support your pet with: 

  • separation anxiety
  • fear of other animals, people, or sounds
  • trauma
  • behavioral issues
  • physical pain, injury, and illness
  • poor appetite
  • loss of energy and vitality
  • difficulty accepting a new pet into the home or adjusting to a new home

I trained with Kathleen Prasad, the founder of Animal Reiki Source, who taught me to "let animals lead." The healing is on the animal's own terms.
Kim recently performed distance reiki on our cat Ronin who seemed close to dying. He wasn't able to keep any food or water down for several days. The vet could not diagnose him and after spending hundreds of dollars on not knowing what made him ill, I decided to contact Kim. She was available to do a whole hour of reiki on Ronin.
After the session he took a nap and within hours he started drinking water! The next day he ate some food and has since made a full recovery! We are so blessed to know Kim. I can't thank her enough for turning a seemingly hopeless situation around helping to save our cats life.

​What can I expect from the session?
Sessions take place either in person or remotely (from any distance). Distance Reiki sessions are performed using meditation and special distance Reiki symbols. Both types of sessions are powerfully effective.

During a Reiki session the animal may yawn, sigh, and rest peacefully. It may also make eye contact and want to be touched. Your pet's response helps indicate what it needs. A healing shift or result generally occurs in the 24 hours following the session, sometimes right after treatment.

Reiki always goes directly to the source of the problem whether we know what it is. It is not necessary for there to be a diagnosis for healing to take place. Depending on the situation and the pet a series of three sessions given in close proximity may be recommended. For an animal that is sick, more sessions are recommended.

Reiki works in harmony with other forms of treatment, and is not a substitute for veterinary care.

Dolce
10-year-old Pomeranian Dolce who suffered from chronic anxiety had a life-changing session. He now has peace when his owner goes to work, no longer making messes while she is away. He loves curling up in her lap after previously not cuddling with her for a year.

"Dolce was attacked at 1 year old, and over a year had 5 surgeries. Since then, he has lived his life high strung and completely anxiety-ridden, and has had horrible separation issues as well. "My 12-year-old cat "Double 0" is a cranky old man. He'll often bully my dog by sitting in front of his food bowl or hop up on the bed when my dog is there and scratch the dog so he will leave and get the bed to himself with me. I just adopted another rescue dog and was worried about the transition between the new dog and the cat. Kim explained that Reiki may help reduce the anxiety and stress the cat would experience. "My ten year old cat Charlie was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma with a large, aggressive tumor around his jaw.
